Poondu kara kuzhambhu



Serves: 4

You need:
Shallots – 12  
Garlic pods - 15
Tomatoes – 1
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Kuzhambhu masala powder – 3tbsp
Tamarind – lemon sized
Water – as needed
Salt – as needed
Sesame Oil – ¼ cup

For seasoning:
Mustard seeds – 1/2tsp
Few curry leaves

Preparation:
Take thick extract from tamarind.

Cooking:
Heat sesame oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds and curry leaves when the oil is hot. Saute for a minute.
Fry sliced shallots and garlic pods.

                          

Add tomatoes, kuzhambhu masala powder, turmeric powder and salt.

                          

Add tamarind extract. Maintain medium heat. Let it boil for few minutes.

                          

Reduce the flame and cook till oil floats on the top.

                          

Kuzhambhu is now ready!
