Prawn Gravy


STEP 1:
Marinate Prawns [300grams] with little salt and turmeric powder [1/4tsp].
Keep them aside for 30minutes.

STEP 2:
Heat oil [1tbs].
Saute Fennel seeds [1tsp] and cloves [2].
Fry sliced onions [2 medium sized], green chillies [1 long one] and ginger garlic paste [1tbs] for a minute. Add tomatoes [1 small one] and cook.
Grind to paste by adding little water.

STEP 3:
Take thick coconut milk using coconut pieces [3tbs], warm water [1cup] and cardamom [1].

STEP 4:
Heat oil [3tbs]
Throw in few curry leaves.
Add the ground masala [in Step 2] and then the marinated prawns [in Step 1].
Add salt and cook the prawns for 2-3minutes.
Add chilli powder [1tsp], coriander powder [1½ tsp], cumin powder [1/4tsp], garam masala powder [1/2tsp] and coconut milk [1/2cup]. Cover and cook the prawns for sometime.
When the gravy thickens, add pepper powder [3/4-1tsp] and the remaining coconut milk [1/2cup].
Thicken the gravy once again.

NOTE: Cover and cook the prawns in low flame...It will take approx. 15minutes.
