Serves:

You need:
Basmati
Rice – 1cup
Dry
peas – ¼ cup (or) fresh peas – ½ cup
Onion
– 1
Green
chillies – 2
Ginger
garlic paste – 1tsp
Salt
– as needed
Water
–1 ½ cups
Oil/Ghee
– 2tbsp
Spices:
Fennel
seeds – 1tsp
Cloves
– 2
Cinnamon
– 1” inch piece
Bay
leaf – 1
Preparation:
Soak
basmati rice for 15minutes.
Soak
dry peas overnight. If you use fresh peas, no need to soak.
Cooking:
Heat
oil/ghee.
Add
all the spices and sauté for a minute.
Fry
sliced onion and green chillies.
Then
add peas and ginger garlic paste. Saute for another one minute.
Reduce heat and saute basmati rice till oil coats the rice.
Add
water and pressure cook for 2whistles in medium heat.
Serve
hot with Vegetable kurma or Mushroom kurma!
